One by one the goblins fell. After Lucan defeated them all, he turned around and saw Haron.
"How did you do that so fast?" Haron asked. Lucan hadn't thought about how fast he had defeated the goblins. He realized now that it hadn’t taken more than a minute to bring all of them down.
"That's just how it works when you're that good." He replied, then he saw the girl and quickly went over to her. Her name was SparkFlower, and her hp looked low.
"Are you ok?" He asked
"I know, it hurts a lot more than you thought doesn't it?"
"Y-yeah, it does hurt a lot." She replied in a quiet voice
"Uh, if it's not to much of a inconvenience, c-could you help me in battle?"
"Why are you in such a rush to get back?"
"Because I'm a Druid, my class gets it's power from nature so we need to keep this forest." She replied hastily.
"At least have a potion." Haron said while pulling out one and handing it to her. She took it and restored some of her health, Lucan was strangely relieved that she restored her health. She's some random player, what do I care if she's low on health, Lucan thought to himself.
"So can you guys help me?" asked SparkFlower. Lucan had zoned out in thought,
"Oh yeah right, the fight. Well, lets go." He said, his attention snapping back. Haron pulled him aside.
"Dude, do you really want to risk stuff like this out there in the battlefield?" He asked. Lucan took a second to think about it.
"Yes, I want to do this."
The three of them ran back to the battlefield, and saw that the goblins had gained some ground.
"G-guys, I think we need to, uh, fight," said SparkFlower, "I'm no good at fighting, but I can heal you guys if you go up front."
Lucan scanned the battlefield and saw some gaps in the goblins force. We could take on little sections at a time to be safe, he thought.
"Sounds like a good plan to me." He replied. They ran down. Haron, faster than Lucan, pulled out his knife and jumped onto a goblin, stabbing it in it's head. Lucan caught up and pulled out his blade to strike another goblin. A group of about 15 goblins started to head towards them. Lucan lunged forward and stabbed one in the stomach, but he was too slow at pulling out the blade, and a hammer swung out to hit him square in the chest.
"Ahhh" he yelled for a second, then he saw another swing from the hammer goblin. As it came closer though, Haron rushed in to block it. Lucan suddenly felt a rush of energy, like he had just got an adrenaline rush five times over. When it passed, he realized that he had just been healed by SparkFlower. He was about to say thank you, when an arrow hit the ground next to him. He quickly remembered where he was. Getting up, Lucan grabbed his blade and lunged at a goblin.
After about 10 minutes, Haron and Lucan had driven off 2 groups of goblins by themselves. Then they regrouped up with some other players/npcs that were there and managed to drive the goblins out of the clearing. The goblins retreated back to their territory in the forest. Everyone began cheering at the victory and people started talking to each other before heading back to the forest. Lucan was trying to look for his group when SparkFlower ran up to him and hugged him.
"I would've been dead meat if you guys didn't show up." She said, "thank you."
"No problem." Replied Lucan. Having a healer on the team might be a good idea, he thought. "Hey, how would you like to join our group?" he asked, "there's only four of us and a healer would be a great addition." SparkFlower thought about it for a bit then said
"Sure, I'm not in a group yet. Well, I have to sign out right now for a bit, one of the people you saw on the ground when you found me is my friend and she should've showed up by now. I'm going to go see what's up with her." Said SparkFlower.
"Ok, then goodbye. Send me a message when you get back on." SparkFlower nodded then logged off.
Lucan, Haron, Ironrein, and DarkMist met up near the edge of the clearing.
“Good news guys. I got us a healer on the team." Lucan said.
"I knew you would ask her to join the team," Haron replied.
"Ask who to join the team?" demanded DarkMist, "can we trust her?"
“We probably wouldn't have made it if she hadn't healed us during the battle."
"Sounds good to me. Where is she then?" Inquired Ironrein.
"She logged off to look for her friend. We could rest here until she comes back," Lucan suggested. The group agreed, then they set up a fire to cook meat to heal themselves.
"And then while Lucan was distracting three goblins, I went up and destroyed the trebuchet. It was an epic fight," bragged Haron to everyone around the campfire. Lucan was sitting next to Ironrein and Haron was sitting next to DarkMist.
"Yeah well that's nothing compared to what happened to me-" DarkMist was cut off by the login of SparkFlower. Lucan called out for her to go over to them. She ran to them and when she got there, she had a grim look on her face.
"Uh, h-hello. There's something scary about this game, guys. My friend, the one you saw laying on the ground, she's in the ER right now."
